Friday Five: January 2018

I can't believe I'm already writing another Friday Five post! This first full week of classes flew by because of all the things I had to do, but at least it's left me feeling accomplished. Here are some favorites from my week:

Freshman Dorm Room Tour

While some people, for obvious reasons, dread living in a dorm room, being back in mine since Christmas break has reminded me just how much I actually enjoy it. Don't get me wrong: I miss my queen-sized bed and much prefer to shower without wearing shoes, but overall I'm pleased with my freshman year living situation. I think a big part of the fun for me was getting to decorate this blank slate!

It definitely wasn't love at first sight though! I was absolutely frightened when I first walked into this room.

Friday Five: January 2018

Hello & happy Friday!

This school week was only four days, which was helpful for easing into the second semester, but it sure felt long. You can bet I'll be soaking up every last minute of this weekend before our first full week commences on Monday! Beginning with today's post, I've decided to introduce a little weekly series to collect my five favorite finds of the week. Let me know what you think!

NYC Recap

As I mentioned in my last post, my family spent the week after Christmas in New York City. We had the best time, so I thought I'd share the details of our visit!

2017 Highlights

All in all, 2017 was a year of change. Anyone who knows me knows that I find comfort in the constant, so I'm not exactly the biggest fan of change. However, obviously it is sometimes inevitable, such as when moving to college 800 miles from home, so I'm trying to make the most of it. Looking back, I'm actually thankful for the times I've been forced out of my comfort zone this year and the growth I've experienced as a result. As I move forward into 2018, I am working on cultivating my own happiness, beginning by accepting change and channeling it towards growth instead of stress. For now, here's a recap on the highlights of my year. It's crazy to think about how different my life has become in only a year, but it excites me to think about what my 2018 Highlights post will look like!

Snow Day Style

Growing up in Florida, I missed out on real winters, so nothing excites me more than a snow day. I had never even seen snow until earlier this month, and, let me tell you, I was ecstatic, even though it was just enough to cover the ground.

So you can imagine how thrilled I was when my parents planned a post-Christmas visit to New York City. Leading up to it, I obsessively checked to see if it would snow, but the predictions were inconclusive. Much to my excitement, we walked outside on Saturday morning to find quite a bit of snow coming down!
