Friday Five: January 2018

I can't believe I'm already writing another Friday Five post! This first full week of classes flew by because of all the things I had to do, but at least it's left me feeling accomplished. Here are some favorites from my week:

sunset at the National Mall this weekend

One

My family started watching The Good Doctor together over Christmas break, and we all fell in love with the main character, Shaun Murphy, a young autistic surgeon. I'm not usually a fan of medical dramas, but the raw emotion in this one is refreshing. I finally got to catch up on the latest episodes last night and cannot recommend it enough. You can watch it on ABC and Hulu.

Two

As a Global Health major, I might be slightly biased, but I think Ophelia Dahl--Roald Dahl's daughter and a founder of the non-profit Partners in Health--is majorly cool. I had to read a pretty lengthy article about her for my Epidemiology class this week and was moved by her commitment to fighting for the dignity of all people. So if you're looking for an inspiring weekend read, definitely check it out.

Three

Kevin came to Georgetown last weekend, and we finally got around to visiting the Newseum. I'll admit I thought it would be boring but was actually very pleasantly surprised! We already have plans to go back because we didn't feel like we had enough time there. Also, be on the lookout for some more of my D.C. favorites coming soon to the blog!

Four

Like any other Glossier fanatic, I am eager to test their newest product, Solution. Based on the reviews and results I've seen, it looks promising, but I guess I'll have to try it to know for sure! Below, I've linked some of their other products that I love. (Ok, I love anything of theirs, but still...)
