Friday Five: July 2018

This month, I've been really slacking on my summer goal of two posts a week. I'm not mad about it, though, because it just means I've been busy with a bunch of other things.

I've been living my dream by spending most of my days in the operating room, learning from pediatric surgeons and their residents and medical students. I've gotten back into my routine at The Bar Method--my favorite workout class--and it's reminded how good I feel when I'm consistently active. I've also gotten to spend a lot of time with my friends and had plenty of time to relax and read on my family's trip to the Bahamas. Read on for my favorites for the month of July!

My First Capsule Wardrobe

Have you ever opened your closet full of clothes and still felt like you had nothing to wear? How about bought something not because you liked it, but because it was inexpensive? Felt anxious getting dressed in the morning, overwhelmed by the number of choices you have? Me. Too.

I'm excited to share a project of mine that has been in the works for quite some time now. For a number of reasons, including the ones I just described, I've been in the process of curbing my spending and cultivating a small closet of clothes that I love.

The Ultimate College Packing List

I know from experience how daunting it can be to pack for college, especially if you, like me, have to ship it all to another state. Last year, I tackled this challenge in the most MK way I knew how: with a color-coded, categorized packing list. I compiled this list on a Google Doc and shared it with my soon-to-be roommate so she could add to it and cross off items when she purchased them. Any potential confusion regarding our shared items was prevented by coloring them based on who was bringing what.
